How does this work?
*You fill out a questionnaire.
*I read it.
*We make an appointment to speak on the phone.
*I ask you followup questions from the answers you gave on the questionnaire. We'll talk about why what you've been doing isn't working and how we can fix it.
*Then together we formulate a program for you and your dog.
*You will get personalized guidelines for your situation -- what a stay-at-home mom will do will be different than someone who works nine to five.

How can I trust that you won't simply take my money and rip me off?
Well, I belong to several dog training organizations -- check me out! -- and am certified by several of them. If I were to rip you off, you could easily report me to the organizations, and I would lose my certifications. I worked *very* hard to get those (studying and taking lots of tests), so I'm not about to jeopardize that.
What is the fee?
For puppies, it's $85. That breaks down to $25 for the questionnaire and $1.00/minute for an hour consultation. It usually takes about an hour to get the information and formulate a program.
For dogs, it's $25 for the questionnaire. I read the questionnaire and then determine if it is a housetraining issue. Sometimes what you think is a housetraining issue turns out to be a behavior issue. If it is, then I can help you with that (remember, I'm a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants -- www.iaabc.org). The fee is $1.00/minute for that as well.I may need an additional questionnaire, and there is an additional fee of $25 for each behavior questionnaire. With adult dogs, it may take a bit more time on the phone because we have more material to cover.
Why should I pay you instead of reading a book?
Because during our consultation, I'll find out what you have been doing that isn't working and I'll make suggestions especially geared to you and your dog. And then give you email support. If you read something from a book and it doesn't work, who do you have to ask if things don't go as described? And I'm a lot cheaper than having to clean your carpet every week!!!
But if you want to read, then either read my handout on dog and puppy potty training or get a book on puppy or dog housetraining that I recommend.
How do behavior issues affect housetraining?
Sometimes dogs may have separation anxiety, fear issues, or other behavior issues which may affect their elimination habits. I have 18 years of experience in dealing with training and behavior issues (Please look at my Resume'.), and I can generally sort things out and help you out with those as well.
What will I get from the consultation?
- a method showing you how your dog or puppy can become housetrained
- an understanding why what you're doing isn't working
- a personalized plan and handouts for you and your dog or puppy regarding potty training issues
- how to cleanup -- the one thing that most people do that actually delays the housetraining process
- how to get your puppy or dog to pee and poop on command and how most people do it incorrectly
- email follow-up support for three months
Please note that these handouts are designed to give you tons of information -- there's no gratuitous graphics that increase the number of pages for no reason. They are designed with bullet points so you can easily read and refer to them so you get the information you want.
