PUPPY POTTY TRAINING

Puppy potty training can be exasperating because it takes time. Puppies don't have the muscle control to "hold it" for very long and they have such a short attention span that it takes awhile for them to get the. "mental control" to know where to go. So *you* need to be consistent until they develop both the muscle and mental control
Your puppy doesn't know what you want -- just about everything is new to him, and he can't read your mind! You may be training one thing and he's interpreting it very differently because *we* know so much more about dog behavior with each passing day. For example, the old way of training was if your puppy had an accident, you were instructed to rub his nose in it. We know today that that doesn't work -- and how terrible that is because he really doesn't understand that you don't like his peeing on the rug, but it does teach him to be afraid of you. So we need to teach him in a way that he understands, not scare him to death!
And he is growing, both physically and mentally. He's learning every day, and those little neurons in his brain are making new pathways with everything he learns. Training your puppy where you want him to pee and poop takes time, patience, and consistency. Sorry, it doesn't matter that your other dog was potty trained in two days. *This* is a different dog and (I won't tell anyone this) but *you're* older now and not the same person you were when you had your last puppy. So you're different, too.
